Submission Policy

I accept book review requests; please use the contact form that can be found on the left sidebar of any page.

Although I would love to read every book submitted to me, unfortunately, as a full-time Mother, full-time Librarian, and part-time reader, I do not currently have the time.

I can more readily review picture books and juvenile fiction and non-fiction. YA and Adult books to review will be selected using more stringent guidelines.

If I do agree to read and review your book, you can be assured that the review will be posted by the deadline I give to you when we communicate.

I hold myself to high standards, and conduct additional research for each book I review. I search for additional reviews and materials when available to provide myself with the best possible knowledge base so I may publish the best reviews possible.

Thank you for visiting my blog, and thank you for your time!

  2. Hi! I think you may be interested in my novel. It's women's fiction/literary, and published by Buddhapuss Ink LLC. Angelica Schirrick could be your mother, your aunt, your sister, your neighbor or best friend. She is the main character in IN THE CONTEXT OF LOVE, a novel by Linda K. Sienkiewicz about how oppressive it is for women to be silenced by shame. The story was inspired by the stories of real life women in a Glamour Magazine article from the 90s titled "My Father Was a Rapist."

"The heart is imprisoned not by being broken, but by being silenced" ~ Martha Beck

The novel is told to a first love from the perspective of many years later. Angelica has a story to tell, and she's most interested in sharing it with the love of her life, the one that got away. After scandal and circumstances tear these two apart, she spends years trying to recover from the split and a devastating family betrayal that derails her life. How she is able to finally stand tall again comes out in her story to the lost love.

The empowering message of IN THE CONTEXT OF LOVE is that by telling our stories, we are able to embrace who we are. We do not have to be defined by societal shame. Our life is good for the simple reason that it's our life.

IN THE CONTEXT OF LOVE is a Finalist in the Great Midwest Book Festival Contest

Let me know if you'd be interested. Thank yoU!

  3. "Great-Grandma's Gifts" is a children's picture about a little girl who loves to sew. She grows up to become a mother, and later on, a grandmother, who sew dolls, toys and quilts for her many grandchildren. It's a gentle generational story about the special bond between children and their grandparents, and teaches children that older people were once children, too.
I am a retired teacher, grandmother, and author of 5 books. My website is www.mariannejones.ca. If you are interested in reviewing "Great-Grandma's Gifts," please let me know and I will be delighted to send you a review copy.
    Sincerely,

  4. Hi Laura,
Would you please consider reviewing my novel A BURNING IN THE DARKNESS which I have self-published through Troubadour? It is a compelling crime drama and poignant love story about a virtuous man who confronts the painful legacy of his war torn childhood to make the world a better place. The devoted Michael Kieh is wrongfully convicted of murder at one of the world’s busiest airports where he is a full time faith representative. A series of brief encounters with a soul mate has eased his loneliness, but ultimately he chooses to protect a young witness who could prove his innocence. As a boy, Michael witnessed appalling abuses of power, including the killing of a missionary priest who refused to betray young Michael. But there was a first love that he left behind in the brutal confusion of war. When she and Michael cross paths once more, they battle to prove his innocence in a foreign, hostile country.

'The writing is such that the reader is gripped immediately, and swept into a plot that packs intelligent themes and emotional depth into a twisting, page turning read. ' The Book Bag.

'...plenty of twists and turns to keep you hooked until the very last page, A Burning in the Darkness will prove difficult to put down.' Bestsellersworld

If you need a little 5 minute break from literary things there is a very poignant series of B/W portraits on my web site that I took in the Caribbean island of Montserrat before it was devastated by volcanic activity. You can find them on my web site under the tab 'Montserrat'. If you are interested, I'd love to do a guest post for your blog about the novel, the photographs and myself.

    Kind regards,
